Whether I am traveling on a flight or a long distance bus/train ride, I always try to get a window seat. There are a lot of unique experiences and sensations that can be had in the proximity of a window seat that are impossible to put into words. Firstly, sitting by the window seat allows me to appreciate the wide range of scenery that can be seen. Whether it’s the towering skyscrapers of a city or the natural beauty of mountains and rivers in rural areas, it’s all within my line of sight. I’m able to view the entire city from high up in the sky, take in the rolling beauty of mountains, and immerse myself in the grandeur of Mother Nature. For someone like me who loves to travel, the window seat is an exclusive experience where I can see for myself and capture stunning scenery that cannot be measured in monetary terms. Secondly, sitting by the window seat allows me to experience how air transport defies traditional notions of geography. On the ground, we can only experience the limited view of an area within a few kilometers. But in the sky, we can take a bird's-eye view, and easily see the vast expanse of the earth. We can observe the sea and waves, experience the sunrise and sunset at different times and places, appreciate the clouds and look at the dots of light on earth… all of this can be experienced only through sitting close to the window seat. Apart from the beautiful scenery and natural wonders, sitting by the window seat allows me to experience changes and evaporation of various substances in the air, which is also another kind of sensation. Sitting by the window, I can observe the changes in weather, such as clouds, fog and rain and snow. At the same time, I can also see the phenomenon of chemical substances changing from liquid or solid to gas, such as the steam during takeoff, the clouds caused by humidity, the flow of traffic and the spraying of agricultural crops, all of which can be observed in the small world by the window. The most important thing that the window seat brings to me is a quiet space. I’m not disturbed by noisy passengers or sounds in the train or airplane. I can quiet my mind to enjoy some moments of tranquility. Of course, listening to some good music with headphones is also a good experience. When the air is filled with refreshing fragrance, the line of sight penetrates through the brown twilight, and I feel the gifts of nature and the beauty of life, the window seat does bring a unique sense of clarity. Although window seats are often in high demand, I still strive to get one. Whether it means sneaking on board early, arriving early at the ticket counter, or pre-booking a seat, I would do anything to ensure I get a window seat because I truly believe it’s worth it.
